Nice window a/c you have there Bubba, umm missing the window? Oh well how cool is this, really how cool is this? Don’t you need a window for these to work right? Kudos on adding the fan in front!

Y’know, there’s a reason why these things are placed in a window sticking outside, Bubba. It’s called heat exchange. This one’s only going to put the heat right back into the room. Obviously this particular Bubba lacks even practical knowledge.
Had a friend once who put an A/C smack in the middle of his garage floor, plugged it in, and wondered why it got hotter in the garage. “There’s cool air coming out the front” he said.
Of course, he didn’t realize that A/C doesn’t make cool air out of electricity, it makes cool air and warm air out of electricity.
To be fair, it looks like he is testing it after a repair and recharge.
See the thermometer in the top grill vents?
However, ou are supposed to set it up in a testing port.

I took this picture. I had been off work for a couple days, and I came back to find this. The people who did this swore it made it cooler in the store, but couldn’t figure out why it was so hot in the corner back there. I pretty much told them they were morons and gave them a link to this website.

I’m in the HVAC-R business, the way they have the unit is not only not cooling the room, but it’s creating more heat from the condensor on the back, removing the heat from the front,thats why they put them in a window so it can dump the heat outside not into the same room I’ve actually seen someone do this on several occassions including a upper class restaurant were they acted like they were all that, but didn’t realize how dumb this was and looked.
