Bubba is going high tech and getting into the server farm business. This is his hillbilly cooler to keep it from over heating!  Next week he is applying for a job at Geek Squad!

  3. The worst part is he has the fan on the front instead of the back where it should go! LOL

  7. The magnetic field produced by the magnetic coils on that fan, are not good for magnetic storage devices, and can cause interference with processors.

i don’t think you understand that
A- magnetic fields are broken up by a metal shield
    and B
Hard drives, power supplies, case fans, graphics cards, and the cpu itself all create magnetic fields all the time..

so no, it is a fine repair,
it does look kinda silly, but really it is just being smart!

  11. Doesn’t matter where the fan goes, front or back as long as there is airflow but the fan on the back does leave front panel access. Problem with having the fan on the back the blades will keep hitting the wires there. These don’t look like servers anyway. More like some sort of power amp for concerts – check out the cabling in the back.

  13. Take a closer look.
These appear to be lighting dimmer packs.
They take air in the front and exhaust out the back.
If they are heavily used, they require extra air flow.
They are usually racked in a case with an exhaust fan removing the excess heat.
