  1. Personally, I’ve never had any problems with UPS, but since everyone likes to pick on them…

“Obviously he had his custom radio shipped via UPS.”

  5. I don’t see anything wrong with that, but in this day and age wouldn’t something like an Mp3/4/Ipod/etc be easier?

  7. #1 I see no evidence of the straps previously breaking.
#2 this most likely cheaper, but not easier than an “ipod”
#3 70% of the hundred shipments I receive each year by ups are damaged.
But, maybe I missed where it even said this is ups.

  9. This is a rather poor execution of what is commonly called a ‘slipseat box’ in the trucking business. When one drives a different truck every day these are carried from vehicle to vehicle. Normally they are built into things like tackle or tool boxes but, as this example shows they can be placed in just about anything.

AFAIK UPS and pretty much every carrier has rules prohibiting wearing any type of ear or headphones.

  11. Actually, this IS common at UPS, when I worked there most of the drivers had these…. The nicer ones were owned by the Feeder (longer haul) truck drivers. This looks like it is in a package car (delivery truck) It is also battery powered too. At the time I was there, the use of any personal equipment connected to the vehicle’s electrical system was strictly prohibited. The reasoning behind it… IF there was more draw on the alternator it would use more fuel and cause the costs to go up and profits going down…
Having said that… you wouldn’t believe all the GPS, DIAD and other monitoring equipment that WAS connected to the electrical system!!
