  1. I wouldn’t brag too much about being a MORON. That could have come loose and killed someone on the highways. You are a bonefide jerk !!!!

  3. Not smart. I am with Rich. The duct tape stuff on this site is funny but this was dangerous. Not sure about the weight of the trailer chains (if there were any) but do you think they would have held with 4k+ lbs. swinging around on the back of the vehicle?

  5. The tape is not carrying any load, it’s just keeping the latch from popping up, which is usually done with a small diameter pin.

  7. A 1/4 inch clevis pin to be exact AND if tape was a viable sub they’d make em to use tape. Total fail for both of you !

  9. I would have used Gorilla tape, it’s stronger.

  11. should have at least used bailing wire with it

  13. Posters calling this guy stupid or a moron obviously have absolutely no understanding of physics. The tape is holding next to 0 weight. A piece of baleing twine (or a thumb) would have done the same job with no problem. I’d have no problem being on the highway with this guy and the tons of others that have done the same thing.

  15. “Uh,huh huh huh, I jeopardized other people’s lives by using duct tape on a broken hitch AND I saved myself a few bucks!!” Sorry Glenn…MORON fits the bill here.

  17. jersygirl your an idiot. if anything the tape is stronger than the pin that originally held it down. jackknobs on here I swear.

  19. all the tapes doin is holding down the locking pin on the ball you could use a toothpick almost there is not much weight on it and the tape makes up completely for that

  23. Sorry, he’s an idiot. I see NO safety chains. Duct tape or not, he’s a dumbass. It’s ok, everybody else here knows it.
