supply line incident

The submitter wrote: “a supply line incident in the laundry room… disaster averted by drainpipe dislocation and paintbrush wedge. i capped the line with a gas line valve (miraculously it fits), using part of a flip flop sole as a gasket, and curling/crimping the line to stop the water flow. maybe it’s time for a trip to the hardware store.”

   Why waste a trip to the hardware store? Looks like you’ve fixed it. I’d say it’s time for a trip to the fridge for a beer and a nap.

   Far from being white trashy, a lot of these repairs are ingenious, and most likely temporary.

   I’ve done things like this when I was stone broke, but had spare parts hanging around.

   If thinking for oneself = white trash, then white trash I am.
