Sprayer Truck…

Bubba’s version of a transformer truck and he turned it into a sprayer.  I dunno I live in the south and it kinda looks like a HUGE skeeter transformer truck.  (for you northern folks a skeeter is a southern name for a mosquito bug)

  1. that’s awesome! I wonder what it’s purpose is. It would be nice to get more of a background on the picture as well. A story. Some of this stuff is actually pretty neat considering some folks don’t have access to as much resources as others. It’s very creative. I would like to just observe it personally rather than look down up on it.

  3. Wow, that truck look like it can go almost anywhere. Whatever that truck goes after it better crawl, run or fly away.

  5. come on it’s a tractor with a truck cab mated to it, it most likly helps keep the operator-driver out of the weather and the over spray plus you can spray at night which can be the best time to apply some herbisides plus when you have the 4 of july parade you just might win

  7. A lot of farmers call this a “grasshopper” normally it’s built by one of the farm equipment manufacturers, John Deere, Massey Ferguson etc. This is actually a sprayer for pesticide/herbicide use. I’ve personally seen them used a lot on cotton farms (I have just been around a lot of them). It’s really cool to be driving along and see one of these coming down the road at you. It’s almost like being in a scifi movie or something lol. The regular ones have really nice operator’s cabins complete with gps a/c stereo etc.

  9. Johnboy is correct. This is a crop sprayer, you can see the tank behind the truck cab. The sprayer arms are folded in right now but they spread out 8-10′ on each side with sprayer heads shooting down.

  11. I don’t know why anybody would knock this. It looks like a good job, maybe old equipment, but a good job. Shows ingenuity.

Let’s just junk all our working stuff and buy new crap eh? There’s still some space left in a few landfills out there.

  17. its farm equipment designed to do minimal damage to the fields, i.e. driving with the wheels in between the plants and not bending the stalks… its pretty cool that the maker got a regular old pickup to work this way
