Spot’s Dog House

Why buy a doghouse for $29.99 when we can just throw an old truck cap down for ol’ Spot and her youn’uns?

  1. I had a relative whom used an old gas station sign as a doghouse.

  7. Hey, this happened to me! I took my cap off my pick up when I had to get the bed repaired, and my dog moved in on his own!

  9. That poor dog. It deserves much better than that. But I guess it’s better than not giving it shelter at all.

  11. This is my submission. (yay!) We’re in the middle of South Carolina, where we see LOTS of whitetrashrepairs! This is my neighbor’s “doghouse”. Classy, huh? Even has a sliding glass door to let in those Southern breezes. lol

  13. This is very disturbing. What a crappy environment for a dog to live in. There are laws against this you know. Would you let your children live like this?

  15. I don’t see anything wrong with the topper as a doghouse. It’s roomy, shaded and has adjustable ventilation. All that other random junk laying around could be cleaned up though

  17. for God’s sake, I wish you tree huggers would get a life! this is a hound, not a poodle, this dog is more comfortable in this camper shell than he would be anywhere else. my father in law had two coon hounds and he bought the goofy plastic igloos and do you know where the dogs slept? under the porch! these dogs thrive in this environment, remember they all used to sleep in caves and hollow logs, this is far more suited to his nature than a damn plastic igloo!

  21. I can not believe that you let your dog have young un’s…..What the Hell is the matter with you? With all of the dogs being killed in shelters. DO NOT BREED, DO NOT BUY, WHILE THOSE IN SHELTERS WAIT TO DIE. OH I wish ignorant people were not allowed to own animals. Oh, or breed their selves for that matter.

  23. @ Bitchy The Dwarf: that junk is just the tip of the iceberg. Their entire yard is filled with junk, but that’s because they’re “scrappers”. Nicest people you could meet, though.

  25. My first thought was someone took the cover off their truck for some reason and the dog adopted it. This looks like the kind of thing a dog just moves into-they like closed in spaces. My dog goes into all kinds of weird places. Doesn’t look white trash to me, except for all the crap laying around.

  27. Animal hugger not tree hugger :) Animals need love too! We do have a life helping animals have better lives. They thrive? Is that why dogs who live in this kind of environment are depressed and die of starvation and heat exhaustion? I noticed that there is no food and water…

  29. Animal Hugger: Don’t move to my neck of the woods if you love animals. We have tons of dogs around here that people have just dumped off. At least this dog has shelter (and the owners DO feed and water it. Maybe when I took the pic their dishes needed a refill but nobody’s perfect.)

  31. @ dogs deserve…

There is a two-bowl dog dish in the photo and, while you are probably correct that there is no food or water in it (at least at the time the photo was taken), professional dog trainers will tell you not to leave food in a dog’s dish all the time, even inside your home. Doing so attracts pests, makes it harder to properly housebreak and train a dog, and leads them to over eat.

  33. My blue tick mixed moved into a topper we took off one of our trucks he even has a dog house but loves the topper. I see nothing wrong with this. Some people just think there better then others thats way they leave the harsh comments.
