Shoe Laces

The submitter wrote: “While not as extreme as others on this web site, I laughed while I fixed my boot today, thinking about White Trash Repairs.  I’m a firefighter and the laces on my boot broke during a shift.  My spare boots were home, and I needed to fix ‘em since I couldn’t get to a store right away.  So, I pulled out the zip ties and reattached the zipper to the front of my boot!  It actually worked quite well.”  I say A+ on this repair!!!

  3. And what Fire department has silver boots? What fireman “happens” to have zip ties in his FD locker?

  5. They would have caught fire if you were called out. I can’t believe that no one had a spare pair of laces. Do you guys stop to fill the gas tank on the way to a fire?

  7. First…What does disco have to do with the picture?? I’m still wondering that!, Second…You probably need to adjust your monitor, due to the fact that the boots are black, I didn’t realize that ignorance caused color deception.., Third….Dude, these are just station / duty boots…They are not Turn Out boots…And I would hope that they would not even put GAS in a Diesel Engine…

And to the poster….. Awesome. Been There brother…

  9. there is nothing wrong with my monitor seeing that it is about a month old and I tried every display option I had and they still look silver to me and others maybe you have crabs in your pants and are a bit grouchy and I said disco cause they are silver maybe I should have said Detroit?

  13. #Fellow FF. Dude your a tard and I hope you don’t work anywhere near me. Those boots are SILVER. I have been a firefighter for 27 years and traveled quite extensively and of course I always visit the local stations for patch exchange. I have never seen silver duty boots. BTW I have seen some rigs that actually use gas. Rookie.

  15. Fellow FF, your my hero! I’ll bet your one of those overweight volunteer firefighters who thinks there a hero because someone gave them a badge and a big hose. Puff your chest out and suck that gut in because you know the women love a hero. What a joke you must be in your department.

  17. I love all the name calling here. I also love the fact that so far most have missed the fact that the photo was taken in a less than bright room with a flash. With cameras this obscures the color of the photo and makes it seem silver. That is what light does when shined on something made of smooth leather, it bounces back to the camera as a brighter color.

I have almost the same boots, not my most favorite pair. The zipper is hard to use until broken in and there’s so much stress on the strings I’m not surprised they broke. Good job with the quick repair!

It also fills me with so much pride to know how much brother and sisterly love we hold for each other. It just makes me so proud to see all of us getting along even here on the internet though, the argument had nothing to do with the reason for the post at all. Best of luck to you all… (and yes I’m being sarcastic)
