As stupid as this looks, if you’re out in the middle of nowhere and something breaks, you gotta have enough brains to Mickey Mouse something together so you can get back to civilization. Remember, the early pioneers of the 18th & 19th century who crossed the country in wagons, and later on the 18 wheel truckers in the early-to-mid 20 century, didn’t have a nearby Lowes to diddy-bop on over to and get a replacement. They had to be able to make the tools to make the replacements parts and install them. As my old man quite often said, “If you didn’t know how to do something that simple, then you were out of luck to survive.”
So there!
