Actually…they live in Wasilla Alaska……the lower part is a pass thru for small animals…..and it’s so high on top so Moose don’t jump the fence…..just sayin…..
Ya dummys. She put it up because a guy moved in next to her home who wants to write an unauthorized biography. The put up the 14 ft fence so he could not see into their home.
Seriously, maybe if some jerk didn’t move in next door to try to poke in to her home life she wouldn’t need the fence. Her home SHOULD be private. I’d build a giant fence too if someone was stalking my family and me by moving in next door and looking in our windows.
That’s fine and all that she put up a fence to keep neighbors from seeing into her home, but the gap at the bottom makes it less than effective. Hence, the reason this picture made this site.

It’s a animal passage. If you ever see the Alaska oil pipeline please note that it is raised off the ground a good six feet and every so many miles it is burried under-ground so large animals like moose can cross. Could it be that the same engineers/workers that designed and built the pipe-line also designed and built her fence?

Radu, the pipeline is elevated over permafrost so that the heated oil won’t melt the ground, then buried when the ground allows for it. I don’t think moose were factored into the design anywhere.

The guy is not an idiot, but a first rate author. He didn’t “buy the house” next door, but rented it for three months.
