   My neighborhood isn’t so dense – we’re out in the country – but those look like my neighbors. I like to tell people that I’m not worried about burglars because I get along great with my redneck neighbors: they’re loaded, trigger happy, nosy enough, and there when I need ‘em.

   This had to be right after hurricane Katrina — there were signs like that all over the place. And make no mistake — those guys were not kidding. They were drunk and they would shoot.

   That’s New Orleans or a nearby subdivision after Katrina. The cops left, Mayor Nagin was hiding out downtown, and the neighbors had to look out for each other.

   (OK, it might be somewhere in Mississippi, too…)

    I was in Biloxi, MS for Katrina and I had a neighbor in my neighborhood that was very trigger happy. Him and his wife took turns standing watch outside. One night someone came in to siphon gas and when they heard the gun cock they left very quick. We didn’t mess around after Katrina everyone was on guard 24/7
