Milk Defused Light

So how do you defuse your porch light when its too bright?  Since I know plastic melts I’m thinking this isn’t such a great idea, what do you think?

   I know someone who had a snake in an aquarium on the porch.
   The aquarium had a wire mesh lid. They put a light bulb on top of the tank to keep the snake warm. Then a blanket over the light bulb.
   The blanket caught fire and burned the whole place down.
   I hope this Bubba has insurance.

   Defuse or Diffuse?

   Defuse literally means “to remove the fuse.” It has come to mean generally “to disarm” or “pacify.”

   Diffuse is normally used as an adjective meaning “spread out,” “extended,” or “verbose.” As a verb it means “to spread out in all directions.”

   That must stand for “Grammar Man!” Able to leap tall libraries, and correct mis-speaking individuals.

   Really, this is not school, and not your place for belittling those who are either in a hurry, don’t know better, or just don’t care.

   Defuse might be the right word, because that situation needs to be disarmed before it burns down the house.

   I’ve never been a fan of Grammar-Nazis, but claiming that spelling and grammar are irrelevant to effective communication is just as obnoxious.

   Spelling and grammar are vitally important. Are you going to help you Uncle Jack off a donkey, or help your uncle jack off a donkey?

   However, grammar aside, the electrician in the family says this is an invitation to a fire, especially since it looks as if he has a pretty high wattage bulb in there.

   I hope this is a fluorescent lightbulb. Those gives out much less heat.
