Carburetor Cooktop…..

There used to be a cookbook out that was called I think Manifold Destiny. It had recipes for cooking on your car engine.
Push a big dent into the Chili can and lay it on top of the intake.Heat ’til the dent pop’s out. This was invented 3 minutes after the first GI got his canned C-Rations and works great.
dont they know ur supost to put them on the center port of the intake manifold! duh!
Place tinfoil wrapped dogs between cylinders of your harley and ride about 10 miles, for canned food, duct tape to the top radiator hose and go for about 1/2 hour.
Very wrong. First off fuel/air mixture is meant to be kept cold, so there are better places in the engine bay to cook. Second pull over and hit a local quickie mart, they have microwaves you can use for free…
the 4.2 jeep engine generates enough heat that direct contact with the manifold would burn one side of the dog…
by placing on the air cleaner, the heat generated in the enging compartment acts as an oven…
Cooked an entire turkey dinner this way back in ’75, using the manifolds as other commenters have noted is the right way.
and remember… hot dogs dont need cookin’… they just need heatin’…
I used to work at the us/canadian boarder.. lots of truckers put canned food under to hood to heat it up.. works great i guess
Cheapskate! We used raw hamburger, an onion, a couple carrots and a potato to make a ‘Hobo Stew’ on the way to camp when I was in the Boy Scouts. It was cooked by the time we arrived, and cooled enough to eat by the time we had unloaded the truck.
