Beetle Bug Campers…

Last week when we posted the VW Beetle Bug camper and we thought we found an ultra cool unique camper.  Who knew that this was a camper kit sold in the 70′s.  After our first posting we were sent more.  I’m not sure if this is more White Trash or should be on our sister site youdrivewhat.com

  1. The one on the bottom, other than resembling a U-Haul because of the color scheme, is actually quite nice. But what’s up with no windshield wipers? I mean, it never rains when you go camping, huh?

  3. This kit should be remade for modern Beetles. I’d buy one if they did it.

  7. Forget about the no wipers, what about the “lazy eye” look with the bottom one only having one headlight peak, thingy, what the hell are those called people?

  9. The orange one may be winking at us. Somebody earned his 15 minutes when the 1963-64-65 Corvette Stingray headlight trick was new, by rewiring one of those to wink. Putting a headlight-visor on only one light gets it done with no moving parts.

Looking at the angle of the rear wheel we can see on the blue one, I’m guessing the engine and most of the interior are out of there.

  11. No w/wipers necessary with a coat of Rain-X on the glass.
